Sacramento’s Urban Design Alliance (UDA) is having another interesting dialogue on Wednesday, April 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This time the topic is “The Next Design Frontier: The American Suburb,” and the presenter is local architect and “smart growth” advocate David Mogavero.
From the information sent to the Blogger:
“Experimental design may not seem appropriate for Sacramento’s Central City, but the unique set of constraints existing in a less-urban fabric is an ideal setting. Among Sacramento’s suburbs exist great opportunities, where the outcome has the potential for huge impacts on the region. It’s here that design challenges and a convergence of cultures are giving way to a unique new paradigm. Reduced traffic congestion and access to affordable housing are just a few of the results when we explore the Next Design Frontier: The American Suburb.”
This event is hosted by the local chapter of American Institute of Architects (AIA) at 1400 S Street in Sacramento. For more information, please e-mail Dustin Littrell at DUSTINLITTRELL@hotmail.com.
